We are leveraging 'Omics technologies to better understand the impacts of ocean acidification on marine ecosystems, from the cellular to population level. This page will be populated with eDNA data being generated from the West Coast Ocean Acidification 2021 cruise with 6 markers x >700 samples across the North American West Coast to characterize how microbes, phytoplankton, and zooplankton respond to ocean acidification. This work will help us develop eDNA based indicators of ocean acidification along the West Coast for water quality monitoring. We are also working on a few projects to characterize gene expression responses of pteropods and krill to ocean acidification, hypoxia, and thermal stress.
